Coburn is traditional conservative, opposing abortion except in rare cases to save the life of the mother and advocating tax cuts and limited government. On the death penalty, he said: "I favor the death penalty for abortionists and other people who take life."

First, arguments about the validity of ideas based on who would or wouldn't exist if certain changes were retroactive is at best middle-school level thinking. Impossible to add value to a discussion from this mental experiment.

On the other hand, we should start taking the lives of those who take lives, and beginning with Mr. Coburn, let's end it when the last man commits suicide in retribution for man's sins.
